John 'Chalky' White
Though not officially a playing member with the Pirates, this former Bristol and Barbarians hooker, who has also recently passed away, was happy to turn out for our thirds on the odd occasion!
A regular visitor to Penzance, as a friend of Micky James, John was quietly modest of his rugby achievements.
After captaining St.Marys Old Boys at the age of 21, he proceeded to play 221 times for Bristol, and was an England trialist in 1973, hooking against fellow club mate and former British Lion John Pullin.
John returned to St. Marys Old Boys to end his playing days, hanging up his boots at the age of 40 before later becoming Chairman of the club.
